Terms of use

TaxMirror is an informational calculator. These terms describe what it is, what it is not, and the limits of what you can rely on it for.

This is not tax advice

TaxMirror shows you how a set of published tax rules applies to figures you supply. It is not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, it is not a substitute for a qualified professional, and no relationship of adviser and client arises from using it.
Nothing here is an official assessment. Only your tax authority can tell you what you owe.

Accuracy, and what the labels mean

Every figure carries a level saying how far it can be trusted, and the app tells you the state of the ruleset behind it. At present the Belgian ruleset is drafted and checked against official publications but has not yet been through professional verification, so its figures are indicative.
Where a rule does not cover your situation, TaxMirror says so and shows no number. It will not fill a gap with an estimate presented as a result. An absent figure is a deliberate answer, not a fault.
Tax law changes, and rules are encoded by people. Do not rely on TaxMirror for a decision with financial consequences without checking the result against your assessment or with a professional.

Your data is your responsibility

Because nothing is sent to us, nothing is held for you. If you lose the password to a saved household, or clear your browser data, or lose the device, that household is gone and we cannot recover it. Keep your exported file and its password somewhere safe.

Liability

The service is provided as it is, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on a figure it produced.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you use TaxMirror as a consumer, your mandatory rights under Belgian and EU consumer law are unaffected by anything written here.

Acceptable use

Use TaxMirror for your own purposes. Do not attempt to disrupt it for other people, and do not present its output as an official assessment or as professional advice given by someone qualified to give it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules in the country where you live.
Every decision counts
Estimates, not tax advice. Your payslip and your yearly tax assessment are what count.
